CADD Announces 2016 Scholarship Winner!

Netanel Saso
Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas is proud to present the 2016 CADD Scholarship to Netanel Saso (Netty), a dedicated young artist and graduating senior from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas. Netanel was accepted into multiple top-tier art schools and will attend The Cooper Union in New York City next year, and is planning on majoring in sculpture.
“Booker T. gave me the opportunity to explore forms of art I would have never been exposed to otherwise, such as printmaking, jewelry, and sculpture. This year, I decided to take AP 3D and AP 2D, to see how my ideas could combine and bounce off of each other in both classes. Having a lot of the teachers influence me and teach me consistent new things in both classes has truly made me realize that I had to get a BFA. Next year, I will be attending The Cooper Union in New York, one of the hardest schools to get into with an 8% acceptance rate. I plan to major in sculpture, because Booker T. made me realize how sculpture is endless, there are hundreds of things you can create, and many opportunities to find a job afterwards. Sculpture has been the most challenging class, and that is what I thrive on.“

Recommendations from her teachers at Booker T.
Netanel embodies the many unique characteristics that every educator seeks. She is artistically talented, hardworking, and always willing to accept the biggest challenge. I know her talents will continue to flourish in college and she will earn a place as one of our successful alumni!
Netanel has an impressive resume with awards, achievements, and extensive exhibition experience. She is the vice president of National Art Honor Society and loves to be involved in her community. As a high schooler, she has already developed a reputation as an artist and receives constant requests for murals and art commissions.
Netanel has proven to be a reliable and trustworthy senior. Faculty members like myself are always entrusting her with extra responsibility and requesting her assistance. She is good at gathering other students to help with our community art projects because so many of our underclassmen look up to her.
A talented visual artist, Netanel is a young woman whose brain and heart are outmatched only by her hard work and dedication to all that she takes on.
Netanel is undoubtedly a young woman who demands the best, not just of herself but of the people and the world around her, and she’s willing to work to get it. She possesses the personality, the drive, the grit, and the commitment to make a measurable mark at her chosen university as part of the class of 2019.
